SCOTSMAN CHINA SUPPORTS SHANGHAI EXPO

On May 1, 2010, the Shanghai Expo opened to great fanfare after almost 10 years of planning. The 2010 Expo has been a great success to date with more than 51 million visitors so far with another 20 million expected before it closes at the end of October.

Visitors from around the world have visited the Expo site to learn more about other countries as well as about the 2010 Expo’s concept of “Better City, Better Life” which embraces the positive aspects of an increasingly urban world. Most people took advantage of the summer holidays to visit the 2010 Expo and braved searing temperatures of up to 40℃. During the times of high temperatures, a large number of Expo visitors were able to find temporary relief from a cold drink made with ice from Scotsman ice machines located all around the park.

Scotsman ice machines were installed in country pavilions such as the Italian Pavilion and in numerous stores in food courts all around the Expo site. Scotsman China has offices and a production facility located in Shanghai, and was pleased to have its ice machines help its customers meet peak demand from thirsty consumers.
