Scotsman Ice Systems
Highlights New Technology In Ice Making During HOST 2009,
International Exhibition Of The Hospitality Industry -
Milano, Italy
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
At the HOST 2009 International
Exhibition in Rho-Pero (Milano), Italy, from October
23-27th,2009 Scotsman Ice Systems showcased the latest
configurations for ice production, storage and distribution,
to be adopted in HoReCa outlets as well as Food Retail
fresh food departments. Also, samples of the entire Scotsman
ice machine product line were displayed, with a special
emphasis on the new models being introduced in 2010,
such as the MC 16 “Short” Gourmet cube modular unit,
the nugget-ice “Ice Tower” high-capacity dispenser, the
Dice and Half-dice MV 426 slim-line, and a 22” wide modular
unit.
Scotsman is a recognized world
leader in ice making machines dedicated to the Food Retail
segment, featuring four different types of ice: Flake,
Superflake, Nugget and Scale ice. Each ice type applies
to specific food and non-food products, chosen also according
to the size of the display counter. Mock-up installations
of suspended split-type Superflake and scale ice machines,
normally connected to the central refrigeration unit
of super and hyper-markets, were displayed dropping ice
directly on ice-bed displays. This new concept demonstrated
how ice-storage equipment, equipment floor-space utilization
and labor required to load the counters with ice, may
be reduced if not eliminated. Lastly, energy savings
are achieved by running the ice machines predominantly
during reduced utility cost timeframes, using equipment
otherwise idled for most of the time during night hours.
Commenting
on the outcome of the HOST Tradeshow, Mr Emanuele Lanzani,
Managing Director of Scotsman Ice Systems, said, “Scotsman
specifically designs MAR Split scale ice units and MF
Split Superflake units, with skillfully controlled ice
making systems, for the large ice needs of the foodservice,
food retail and food industry segments. We are proud of
being able to set-up our booth at HOST showing not only
our latest products in ice making technology, but real-size
exhibits of the most innovative ways of installing our
machines to minimize costs related to equipment, utilities,
labor and floor space”.
Scotsman also received great interest
in the dispensers, the latest addition to Quick Service
Restaurants dedicated machines, and specifically for
the TC 180 tabletop Cubelet ice (and water) dispenser,
recently made available with a 9 kg ice hopper in the
“Long Range” version.
Scotsman also displayed the MFNS
56 “Ice Tower”, which combines a high capacity (up to
475 kg of nugget ice per day) with the convenience of
in-cup dispensing. This model was very well received
as a solution to the increasingly stringent regulations
in terms of energy and water consumption, hygiene, and
space availability constraints in modern foodservice
operations.
Specially designed refrigeration
and water distribution system with highly efficient production
output are the features of the new 22” (56 cm) modular
dice cube MV 426, the newest addition to the well known
Scotsman MV range, ideal as the production unit to be
used in conjunction with ice and/or beverage dispensers.
Versatile hinged front panel provides ease of access
to the evaporator section of the machine during routine
maintenance operations.
Lastly, the best ice cube on the
market, Scotsman “gourmet supercube”, is now available
in quantities up to 170 kg per day in 30” (76 cm) through
the brand new MC 18 “Short” installed on the B 393 storage
bin. “This is the only available modular ice maker with
dual ice-discharge, either vertical, into the standard
storage bin, or lateral, for innovative installations
in conjunction with work-stations and convenient custom-made
ice storage, closest to the drink preparation area” commented
Paolo Moro, Director of Sales & Marketing
at Scotsman Ice Systems EME&A. “We are proud to say
that with the MC 16 in its new slim line version, the best
just got better!”
All of Scotsman current production
meet or exceed the “California Energy Efficiency Standards”,
set forth by the California Energy Commission.
